H. Ronald Sawl email Partner

H. Ronald Sawl is the Founding Partner of the Sawl Law Group. He received his law degree in 1984 from San Joaquin College of Law and has practiced Criminal Defense and Personal Injury law throughout Central California. He is a credentialed accident reconstructionist from the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR); a licensed Instructor for firearms, baton, and powers of arrest by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS); and, a recognized expert in Use of Force cases by the Superior Court of California. This unique education and experience has helped Mr. Sawl win over 100 jury trials in his fields of practice.

He has sat as a Judge Pro Tem for the Fresno County Superior Court and has served as the Chair for the Superior Court Rules Committee.

Since 1995, Mr. Sawl has served as director of the Police Science Institute in Fresno which specializes in the training of private sector law enforcement.

Mr. Sawl is an active reserve with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department and has served as Commander of the Search and Rescue Air Squadron. In 2001, he received the Lifesaving Medal with Valor.

Martin Taleisnik email Managing Partner

Martin Taleisnik graduated from UCLA in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. After clerking for a year at an office specializing in Personal Injury in Orange County, California, he attended the University of Oregon School of Law. Mr. Taleisnik graduated in 1994 and was admitted to the California Bar later that year.

Upon completing law school, Mr. Taleisnik joined the Sawl Law Group. He has handled both misdemeanor and felony criminal matters in state and federal court. After several years, he left the firm and became a partner in a successful two attorney criminal practice. Five year ago, after spending the previous two years practicing on his own, Mr. Taleisnik happily rejoined the Sawl Law Group.

Mr. Taleisnik’s background in the sciences has proven invaluable to his clients in many different types of criminal cases. He has tried murder cases, as well as sexual assault, robbery, theft, and driving under the influence (DUI).

Additionally, Mr. Taleisnik is fluent in Spanish, and is able to directly interact with all his Spanish speaking clients. Mr. Taleisnik’s hard work ethic has served his clients well and has forged his reputation in the legal community for being aggressive, honest, fair, and most important, concerned for the welfare of his clients.

Kendra Weber email Associate

Kendra grew up in Fresno where she attended Ernie Pyle and Manchester G.A.T.E. Elementary School, Tenaya Middle School, and Bullard High School.

In 2002, Kendra graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fresno City College with an Associate degree in Liberal Arts and extensive coursework in Criminology and Constitutional Law.

In 2005, Kendra graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor is Spanish.

At CSUF, Kendra was the Pre-Law Society Treasurer and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Kendra attended Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top five percent of her class, and was admitted as a member of the California Bar that same year.

At Chapman, Kendra received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest grade in the class for Legal Research and Writing, Evidence, Wills and Trusts, Corporations, Professional Responsibility, and the Advanced Family Violence Clinic.

Kendra was also a Senior Articles Editor for the Chapman Law Review, Editor of the NEXUS Law Journal, Vice President of the Family Law Society, competed on the Mock Trial team, and was inducted into the National Order of Scribes for excellence in legal writing.

In 2007, Kendra served as a law clerk for the Orange County Public Defender’s Office Juvenile Dependency Unit, where she assisted in preparing appellate briefs on complex constitutional issues involving parental rights.

In 2008 and 2009, Kendra worked in the Chapman University School of Law Family Violence Clinic, assisting victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders and related immigration benefits.

After witnessing firsthand the horrors many undeserving families face within California’s Child Welfare system, Kendra became very passionate about child advocacy and parental rights and published her first article in 2008, titled Life, Liberty, or Your Children: California Parents’ Fifth Amendment Quandary between Self-Incrimination and Family Preservation, 12 Chap. L. Rev. 155 (2008).

In 2009, Kendra also wrote The Missing Analysis: Reunification Services as a Due Process Entitlement, arguing for more accountability and increased family services for children caught in the Child Welfare system.

In 2009, Kendra joined the Sawl Law Group as a Family Law attorney, where she currently assists families and children with issues of divorce, custody, paternity, support, restraining orders and restraining order defense.
