Marco Antonio Aguiar III, a Central Valley native, earned his undergraduate degree in pre-law and criminal justice from Fresno Pacific University in 2013. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 2018.
While in law school he participated and received an award for oral advocacy in the 2016 George A. Hopper Moot Court competition. In addition, he gained valuable experience in the area of immigration law and criminal defense while interning full time at a large reputable law firm in the Central Valley, as well as the Fresno County Public Defender office. He gained intimate knowledge of Death Penalty practice while actively assisting and working with attorneys currently representing California’s longest serving death row inmate.
Upon being licensed in California, he worked as a defense attorney with the Fresno County Public Defender Office for over 5 years. While there, he conducted countless preliminary hearings and jury trials to verdict. Mr. Aguiar has experience handling both misdemeanor and felony matters, including but not limited to DUI’s, assaults, robbery, arson, child pornography, domestic violence, three strikes and life cases. Integral to his practice is his firm belief that every criminal defendant has the right to due process and should be treated with dignity.
Mr. Aguiar is fluent in Spanish, and is able to directly interact with all his Spanish speaking clients.
